While Wealthy Fine Dining Enthusiasts are Eating it Up
Eco-Friendly and Going Green are now a widely understood concept, and a huge number of businesses are boasting eco-friendly practices these days. Fine dining is now stepping up to the dinner plate and offering more than just organic foods.
Eco-conscious restaurateurs and chefs are now dedicated to and fully engaged in making as much of their business practices and menu selections as green as possible from simple recycling to more impressive steps like installing solar-energy panels or setting up a compost area for food wastes. They wonderful part is that this does not appear to be a dimming trend, but an ever growing dedication to be as green as Green Eggs and Ham.
Having a big impact on the fine dining industry is Green Restaurant Association (GRA), which is a national non-profit organization that has taken on the role to assist restaurants in becoming efficiently green. GRA has been an industry leader in this effort for over 15 years by providing consultation, research, education and marketing to communities all over the country and now they are the leaders.
Hordes of fine dining establishments purchase products made from recycled materials in addition to upholding the FOG initiative to recycle all fats/oils/grease as well as compost food wastes and recycle all other recyclable products. This all may not seem very attractive to think about to the frequent fine dining enthusiast, but times have changed and a green luxury dining experience is possible because there is great demand, so we keep demanding.
